Mothers Day Poem written for Mom 12 years ago and carried with her up till the day she died. She called it her pocket poem and would pull it out to show everyone. Enjoy.

I remember all the stories, the ones you told so well, the ones that meant the world to me, the ones I wouldn't sell. The stories were the same ones, I told my children too, of course I changed a few things, just like you used to do. Today we sometimes look back, to where we were as kids, remembering the good times, and those awful things we did. The part of life that shines through, the part I loved the most, sitting inside those arms of yours, being held and pulled so close. Mothers hug much better, more often too it seems, when scared about a nightmare, you chased away those dreams. My memories are all pleasant, I wouldn't trade a one, Mommy your the greatest, we always had such fun. You gave me what I needed, then when Christmas came I knew, I would have that gift I wanted, that contained so much of you. If I could start all over, If I could start anew, I wouldn't trade a single time, I would spend my time with you. You gave me inspiration, you made my life complete, because of you I'm able, to think fast on my feet. The stories I come up with, the stories I create, can all be traced back to you, to you they all relate. From deep within my spirit, will always live a voice, that of my Moms creations, you passed them on by choice. Today is very special, because of all your love, your patience with me growing up, your sharp eyes from up above. I turned out pretty darn good, just like you knew I would, I take today to thank you, just like a little boy should. Remember that I love you, remember that I care, remember I will be there, anytime you need me near.

A most truly personable, touching love letter a mother could ever receive. So lovely and special. I can understand why she cherished it so.

Very nicely said, it is wonderful that you still have that and all the memories still with you,so sincere and loving - it shows... Regardless - poems written on -placemants- or napkins yesterday, today or tomorrow... Your Mother has every reason to smile down upon you and say how PROUD of you she is of YOU. Happy New Year to you JCL
