if i was to find you
would it be you
what would you say
what would you pay
if it was you
a telephone # would do

i am an old writer
an old fighter
words
i do
for you
but
if you
ain't you
what do i do
what would i say
what could i pray

the last words were wrong
i lost the song
i lost you
i lost the#

so i can't call

but
i remember you
& me

I once knew someone that this poem would have rang so true as to nearly be considered his theme song. I once knew him but, his memory fades and the music he stirred in me is now merely a whisper, his light dimmed by pursuit of a pleasure just out of reach. This poem brought his memory back! Thanks, I think! Sandi
