Arms wrapped around each other

only to discover phantom lover

who comes and goes like ocean

tides- leaving his seed in my insides

taking with him my heart and soul

while I yearn his return to make

me whole-left to satisfy myself with

dreams-as he ponders his schemes

in places far away from me-on a ship

that sails from sea to sea-yet I will

wait for him forever-my love is one

you cannot sever-I live to feel his
lips on mine-wherever he touches

is divine- even when here in mystical

moments-his enigmatic ways-can leave

me alone for untold days-I long for

what used to be-when his love filled

me with ecstasy-so I hope as I live in

the shadow of his love-that stays within

the dark side of-the many moods he

wanders through-that keep my senses

in hues of blue-whether home or at sea

it is a phantom who dwells with me

The Phantom lover...Hey I spend a few minutes with that guy every night!! His scent lingers heavy in my room and fills my dreams with tender moments. Beautiful poem, Eileen. The longing is tangible.

... As restless as the tides and swells of the sea itself, so are the seeds he sows... Trouble is, he never leaves a tide timetable for us to work with though, does he, this Phantom Lover?! :)) Just leaves us to catch his scent upon the breeze. But guess he will be back... on the next full mooon, probably! :)) A classic romance, Eileen, wonderfully sketched in charcoal and monotones. Lovely. TY Kate xx
