I walked out into the
Beautiful sunshiny day
Heading to the park
Just a few blocks away
Heard the rockabilly music
From the concert there
A sure sign that summer
Soon will be here

Entered the beautiful park
Filled with varied humanity
Baseball section humming
Further on kids section
swings slides, picnic tables
Children of all ages running
Expending all their energy
Playing tag ,screaming with glee
Having fun in the place for it
As aroma's rise from barbecue pits

Crossing the bridge to the
More quiet section by the stream
Young couple kissing under an oak tree
So many beautiful flowers and shrubs
I 'm able to hear the band "Bugaloosa"
They have teens and adults
Moving and dancing in what looks
Like one big wave of movement
So great when families can get together
To enjoy  sunday in the park

I forget all horrid news of the day
All the politics, war, and dastardly deeds
The negativity that overwhelms our senses
As I watch the ducks dive for fish
See and hear birds land with a swish
For drinks or food scraps that we litter
Squirrels scamper past me unafraid
The parks activities give me a sense of peace
We should  enjoy each day as best we can
Remembering Creator has a master plan

There are few thoughts as beautiful as those inspired of God; certainly yours come directly from the Master's lips.

Dear Eileen,

Wouldn't we all be much happier if we sought out and placed ourselves within such positive environments as "Sunday in the Park"? By Creator's gift, we all have a choice of where we allow our spirits to dwell.

Love & Light,
Joseph

There is nothing, I think, like that first realisation that "summer's here!"; that glowing moment that is brimmed full of anticipation, expansion and inexpressible joy. You have captured that first breath well, Eileen, and teach us well to live in the moment, knowing that the Lord can make each and every subsequent one as rich as this one that we cling to! Gives me hope as the rain continues to lash down here and my poor flip-flops whimper and whine at me from the back of my summer cupboard... K xx

Thanks for the generous joy in this read.

Yep, I love going to the park to watch the ducks . . . er . . . dive, myself. Love the concerts and all that jazz. Strange thing, as much as I like all I said, haven't been to a park for fun and games in a good long while. Good poetry.
