Please read it all to understand why I used toker.

California Liberal toker inhaling smoke,
God forbid if it is called marijuana, Mary Jane,
For we must respect our political wars.
Let us forget the smokescreens of Vietnam
Of getting high from the bureaucratic lies,
Screwing us over in the deceit of taking lives.

God, I got to smoke up this insanity
Of Vietnam and Iraq body bags counts,
With American flags of honor upon them,
Being hidden from the direct public view.
Sin of screwing up the American intelligence
To ever believe the truth of Washington’s word.

God, I got to get a buzz on to make sense
Of the bullshit being dished out to America.
Saying this is a religious war using deceit
With politicians fabricating, intimidating,
Censoring the media into a stoned free press.
Zombies walking lines fed them on leashes.

Conservatives of a Bush War of no exit strategy,
Won on a aircraft carrier in a Presidential fright
Suit and massive firing of Iraqi security force.
Abu Gaith abusive images haunting American,
Guantanamo lifetime imprisonment - cowboy justice.
Pakistan, China allies; German, Canada, French enemies.

Democracy and Freedom for a select class of people,
Where veiled women become second-class citizens,
While other religions are treated as infidel slaves.
People hanged for conversions to other religions,
Shiites slaughtering Sunnis slaughtering Kurds,
Round robins of civil war being taught globalization.

Let get high on truth and evict the trash that used US,
For who wants the Republican Conservative right
To rule us in their Democracy and Freedom of Iraq,
Where we become unholy liberals inside our own country,
Where green blood takes over the streets public welfare.
As America merges itself into one worldwide corporation.

Maybe we need some moderate tokers, religious tokers,
Democratic tokers, environmental tokers, and other tokers,
Smoking in a Constitution getting high on civil liberties,
Taking back Congress and clipping White House wings,
Where the tyrants will again walk the poverty of diversity.
From the equality of getting high upon a flag shared by all.

Red blooded patriot faith, not a green blooded Patriot Act
Of domestic warrantless executive privileged spying.
Let us debate and moderate the checks and balances,
Where politicians are forced to answer our questions that
The public has its inalienable right to know the facts.
California Constitutional Liberal toker inhaling liberty,
American Civilian tokers inhaling the Bill of Rights.

Note: While this poet does not smoke pot now, but has partaken in the Vietnam nightmare theatre of coming back home, it seems that some think that infrequent pot smokers are worse that the criminal actions lobbying Washington.

I talked to the new breed of Republican, so disheartened by Bush; she now claims to be an independent. Maybe the Republican Party will now split between the corporate side and the human side.

Wow David, I though I was alone out there with my bullshit blog. It isn't just republicans that are disheartened. The whole country is. Sad commentary on the world as a whole. Excellent work and one of the best I've ever read!

A well-crafted poem thick with political muslce. Glad, Andre, pointed it out to me today. :-) ~~Nordette
