The wonder of enlightment
Where best to seek the ultimate
What priority to focus upon

Turning to what's tried and true
I go deep inside to meditate

Alas! I'm troubled all is dark!
Never before did such utter blackness greet me!

Silently I wait...

Feeling some numbness, I try to pray
Nothing is happening, I open my eyes
All I see is total blackness! What is this?

My mantra has deserted me,I try another prayer
Something within calls me to total silence

I begin to wriggle my toes and fingers they are numb
Something tells me to be still, I respond silently "I can't!"

Finally my minds eye sees a Raven eating something
As my vision clears I see it is a mans hand
I cringe yelling "No, no don't eat that!"

The hand becomes a note, the Raven flies over to me, and puts it in my lap

It reads: "Mans hands have bloodied the lands and now the tides are turning upon him!"

I begin to cry and the Raven takes the note that my tears have stained with blood and eats it.

I am in anguish and can't move, but I continue to sob until I'm sitting in a puddle of blood, and a voice says:

"What are you crying for"

I answer " For mankind"

The voice says"Your tears are not enough to wash away the detestable deeds of humanity. That's why you needed a Savior. You should cry for the Savior who is still rejected by man and must now deliver the recompense!"

I shout:
"This is too dark a message that leaves me chilled and unwilling to share it!"

The answer:
"But you will deliver it and  some will finally see the light. Those who don't, will see what they have always dreaded"

I lifted my arm to swing at something and awoke in my bed at 3:20 a.m. I guess it was a nightmare...Can't shake it...very troubling...I write it down for you to read...

I favour the latter.

This is not as chilling as it appears. None of us can wipe away the sins of others. We can only wipe away our own sins and with positive thinking we can create the harmony and peace that we strive for. In fixing self, one fixes all.

An omen! Raven is associated with mortality and bereavement. It has solar connections. In biblical imagery, raven took bread and meat to Elijah in the wilderness. Its benevolence to Christian Saints as Bernard and Cuthbert, it offered food and advice. The Viking war god Odin owned two ravens, one representing "thought" the other "memory." They would fly out into the world and bring back news. Perhaps this is an echo of your prophetic and messenger mission, Eileen, both biblical and teaching wisdom.

Never more, quote the raven.
Some note, more of a nightmare, from a night bird.
Never more scarier...

There is a reason you had the dream. You were chosen to tell others who will not listen to the warnings through conventional means (i.e., "religion" or the Bible). Hopefully, man will respond, but it is warned in the Bible that broad is the road that leads to destruction. You've done what you can, and all there is left is prayer. I join you, fellow poet, sister. A chilling, effective write, very well penned.

Historically the Raven has been a messenger for the American indian. In Europe the Raven represents a csll fom someone who has passed on. I support the cause as a two-minute warning from the Creator for all of us to get this place in shape quick. Thank you for being a catalyst for this messenger.

My dear . . .
I can't convey adequately to you the body chills I got reading this. I can imagine that this vision shook you to your most inner core. I have often awakened at night, especially the last five years, in a sweaty twit, trying to figure out why my brain recieves such intense information, especially since I can't do a doggone thing about it.

There is an undeniable thing happening:
the environmental/spiritual/physical/emotional changes in this world now are escalating at an unprecendented rate. I read that there are parts of the North and South pole that are calving off now as big as states because of global warming. I read several articles that the Polar Bears are dying because of the temperature changes.

Just this morning there was an article about the new Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, wanting to discuss with our President his views on relinquishing most of the West Bank to the Palestinians for a state. This is a very big deal.

I am honored to have read this. Very sobering read.

Blessings to you

What we have rejected is saving grace and a resurrection to NEW life dissolving old guilt-preferring instead to nail Christ on the cross over and over again as those in power use that guilt(and fear) to paralyze us into apathy and submission. That raven is the black angel, who's purpose is to destroy man out of envy and greed. We forget our power as heirs and see and hear him as an angel of light. The next time this spectre comes Eileen, claim your power as a child of God and know that light will eventually triumph...

It wasn't a nightmare, Eileen, that's how most of my poems come to me. Whether dream or prophesy to my spirit, from His. He's getting ready to return, and wants His people to all, be: John the Babtists, and call the nation to repent. Time is running short. That's why I prodded you, to once again, write the strong and CONVICTING POEMS YOU STARTED WITH. Harsh or soft, loving, or warning, we must tell it as he tells us. Art Well done, great write. I'm proud to have you as a sister and ally.
