So many people ask me why I write or tell me that they love to write but they don't think they are good enough, I thought this might be an appropriate response.

These Words I Write

I write because I have the word

Floating on my tongue tip

I write because it pleases me

When Iím on a poetís trip

I write when I am happy

When elations at my door

I write when I am angry

When Iím just not so sure

I write to tell of love

When love is mine to share

I write to say how lonely

When life just isnít fair

I write to speak of history

When politics are untrue

I write of God and the spirit

When they help me through

I write in quiet desperation

When all my world seems black

I write to share my very soul

When I veer off lifeís track

These words I write may not be famous

Not written down on granite or marble stone

These words are just my rambling thoughts

Ones that come from me alone.

Those are all great reasons to write, Felix; and writing can be hugely therapeutic. I concur with you sentiments here. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

I understand this so well
I feel you have written it for me and so many others
You have experssed the joy of the written word
and the need to just "be" so very well
great job

Felix, I read this poem at a time I felt unsure of my own work. Thank you for this gift. I love the repetition of "I write" - it resounds like an echo and reminds us all why we write, and why it is necessary.

Be well,

Kathy

Reminded me of the classic and sassy Bee Gee's song " Words "....

You write from the heart always..
