in a single breath the other me turned on
I was sitting on the balcony
admiring my greener grass
that had been induced into
an artificially, but lovely color
after a friend insisted he fertilize it for me.
the sun was reflecting off the lake -
glistening orange, red and purple sunset skies.
the cats were on the prowl for lizards.
and in the distance of one breath,
while searching in my heart for you -
yes, after one inhale, and upon the next exhale,
I found you there - deep within my thoughts
where peacefully I was able to breathe in
an awareness of real love.
