I love the Today Show; Karen, who hates the news with a purple passion, paid Katie the ultimate compliment--she cried during her farewell segment. I got "lumpy eyed," too. Goodbye, Katie, and God bless; good luck in your new venture.
|
You were there every morning, faithful like my morning cup of coffee, reporting the breaking news with compassion and great integrity. You believed you could change the world, and did; from personal loss, a beacon of hope; saving others from the same heartache that you went through, a lifesaver. Through the seriousness of the news, you could let down your hair and have fun - I'll miss your smile and 'specially that wonderful giggle, and the special bond you shared, not just with your co-workers, but with all of us who began our day ... Today. Today won't be the same without you.
And now that you embark on a new adventure, know that our hearts are with you as we wish you sad good-byes: enjoy the time off; the news will be there, as it always has been ... we'll watch in September when you return.

She's a courageous woman, to overcome the loss of her husband
and still be a beacon of cheer to all.
Heartwarming tribute, Karla. |

Karla,
As much as I LOVE the news (NOT!), I sure did love watching the Today Show; and it had a lot to do with Katie Couric. She brought to the madness of the world, a sense of class and opportunity for fun and healing. Beautiful tribute to a woman who will be missed by millions on the Today Show; it will not be the same without Katie!! God bless her, and God bless the Today Show in its future without Katie! Very well written!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin sister, Karen Lynn. :( >tears < |

Katie was like a member of the family in the mornings while I rushed round getting ready for work. I didn't watch her as much as I listened to her. I'll miss her huge smile and the character she had while reporting the news. This is a lovely tribute to a great newswoman.
Love and peace,
Susan |

An icon indeed, it seems odd that she will change format now, but we all must grow and persue our dreams. I suppose no one would be happy doing only one thing in their lifetime, so I bid her farewell and best of luck in her new venture. Nice tribute, Karla.
Take care,
Sherry |
