Sweet Dreams

Tonight I sleep alone
Falling asleep to foreign sounds
And the silence of breath beside me
I long for a warm body
To save me from the loneliness of the night
To wrap me up, protect me from the darkness
And to whisper, “good night” in my ear as I close my eyelids
Tucked under the comfort of a warm arm
Strongly shielding all harm
And kissing me into sweet dreams
