Please insipid moon refuse to shine
As the day gives way to twilight
My heart fiercely keeping its beat
Resisting the onset of evening
I try to hold back the night
Longing to spend all of it with you
But time like a fountain keeps flowing
And you are nowhere in sight

Eagerly yearning for your touch
I cannot  bear the wasteful waiting
Forcing my thoughts to other things
My mind is too filled with your visage
A replay of our last evening together
Your lips a flaming caress over my body
Your hands creating magical exultation
Like a laser beam you bore into me
While I  scream, for more, more

I sense you are near my only love
I'm fraught with anticipation, hurry
I long to taste the essence of you
Afterwards  to lie in your arms content
Discussing what we did since last together
Lazily fondling each other until you rise again
To take me once more to higher realms

Finally... the  door opens, you are here...

There no greater feeling than that kind of anticipation, ET. Oh wow...does this one touch the senses and the sensual. Forget the evening, ET..it works any time of the day, LOL...and so vastlky so that the imagnation almost hears the knock before it comes. I loved this ET...more, more!

And that door opens at just the right moment, passion and lust intertwined in this one to make for sensuous poetry.

You could have ended this poem with the first stanza and it would have been complete...The rest of the poem floats in like a dream in a half sleep where longing and desire paint a portrait of love. Beautiful work.
Take care,
Sherry

A sensual fast moving poem which made me hot and steamy,I am jealous as there is no reason here to 'hold back the night.'
My favorite lines were :'My heart fiercely keeping its beat
Resisting the onset of evening
I try to hold back the night'
and also the lines I wish I had written were:'Lazily fondling each other until you rise again
To take me once more to higher realms
Finally... the door opens, you are here...'

True romance. Recognizing the burn in your heart is real and holding true to the vision of things to come is all that is required to reach the ultimate source of our hearts desire. Beautiful writing. :)
