This poem is based on a girl I met at a Drink Bar in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia whom I thought could have led a descent life had she been provided with the support she desperately needed. I have risked my life to take her out of the place but some crooks who were playing behind the scene destroyed the initiative. Though I was worried about the fate of my family during my trip to that country, I was still able to look and appreciate beauty in all its forms and shape, whether it is beauty of nature or a beauty bestowed to human beings. Despite my relatively difficult economic condition I was still trying to help anybody who might need my humble support and assistance. Ater all a country that has helped me find safe haven in it, deserved similar help as a reciprocate to its generosity

TALL AND SLENDER
SLIM IN THE WAIST

EBONY IN COMPLEXION
SHE GLISTENS IN THE SUN

ELEGANTLY CHARMING
SHE MOVES WITH GRACE

ROUND AND BEAUTIFUL
EYES EMIT A SPARK

DARK LIKE A DESERT NIGHT
HAIR DANCES IN THE WIND

CLEAN MUCH AS TRUTH IS WHITE
TEETH GLARE UPON YOUR FACE

FAT AND RATHER FLAT
LIPS FLY OPEN SO RARELY

SHE TALKS LITTLE, LAUGHS LITTLE
LISTENS MUCH, SMILES MUCH MORE

SHE IS A BEAUTY, A REAL BEAUTY INDEED
BUT SHE IS A BEAUTY IN THE WRONG PLACE

SHE DESERVES A SHELTERED LIFE
LEST WINDS OF TIME LICK HER UP

IN HER LIFE I TRIED TO STEP IN
BUT OVER THE ROCKS OF SABOTAGE I STUMBLED

IS AFRICA THE BURIAL SITE OF BEAUTY
OR IS IT THE GRAVEYARD OF ITS OWN TALENT?

If every mortal soul on earth displayed the compassion you do, Abdi-Noor, all nations would be much better places to live.

A taunting write Brother Abdi-Noor, I fear Earth Mother's death is written upon the sands in Africa while too many in the world choose to dose sleepily as if evil will disappear on its' own. Courage, my friend, Peace, love, and blessings are wished for you and yours. Always in my prayers. <Mikii> I hold onto the hope of seeing you one day with your sister in a safer place.

A thought provoking, profoundly moving ode to beauty; may you and your family, and those you're helping, find the safety you desperately seek. Extra prayers are being said for you today, (((Brother Abdi-noor))).
