                THE  CAJUN  BIRD FLIES  ALONE

I am the Cajun Bird that flies alone

Most birds fly in flocks
They land on the docks
And also on rocks
To drink of the water
That sustains all of life

But I fly alone
I will till I've won
By the crown of  thorns
I have worn
And the life I have shown

I do not take credit for my life
For I know it is not my own
It belongs to the most high
Who wore the crown of thorns
And whose promises are not a lie

Do not take pity on me when I die
For to live a life of truth and not lie
Is what it is all about
And the devil can just go to hell
For that is where he does so well

And your feelings are worthy of appreciation, Marguerite. The blue heron is a wonderful symbol too. Thank you. Love and peace,

Marguerite,

This is poetry at its best. I'm reminded of the verse in the Bible about the wide and narrow roads...excellent!

I think it is a true work of art and being true and personal has more spiritual value then money could ever buy. Very good Marguerite.
