As I begin to stretch
I feel my body elongate
I imagine myself a swan
Staying aware of my breathing
I breathe in as I spread my legs
Holding them straight 4 ft apart
I breath out as I reach over my head
Clasping my fingers together
As I assume different yoga poses
I feel calmness permeate all of me
I close my eyes and hold my stance
My mind lifts to higher thoughts
In mountain position still and silent
I commune with the greater good
Discerning visions of fertile fields
Where dreams are first birthed
I go into relaxed position to meditate
Soon I'm walking among those fields
Inhaling the beauty of Creator's dream
Exhaling to allow His dream to become me

Eileen,

It is I who needs to be thanking you this afternoon, what a beautiful stretch of the mind and imagination you've presented us with! An exercise in class, this lovely little poem. So, thank you. Saving this one.

It is always good to think on those things that are good and lovely, those things that bring life and understanding, and those things, when shared with others, enlighten, provoke, inspire, and challenge!

Your morning ritual is good for all of us to follow. When we are in touch within...we get in touch without and our passions become more astute.

I wish I could do this yoga thing, even bought dvds but I am totally unable to relax or stretch, and I know that it's a beautiful experience - I feel problematic - maybe it's just me, I loved the last two lines of your poem, you're lucky!
(by the way what does namaste mean? because in Greek it's an expression that means "here we are!"
