Sometimes a simple drive in the country makes the scars of lilfe dissapear

Into the valley
Onto the shadows
Into memory lane
Your mind narrows
Into a place where fear once was stong
Where danger lurked within the shadows
Innocents of youth soon were lost
As the perils of war soon follows
These memories of so long ago
Began to ease passing through the shadows
Todays beauty causes no pain
Leaving behind yesterdays in the shadows

Look at Eileen...my true sis...picking up on your poetry and the photo you allowed me to use. Awesome Ron and here's hoping you will add more of your creative side to The Den. I welcome you and seems two of my favorite ladies have before me. That's what I get for having appointments but you were in good hands then and you'll be in super hands here with the rest of us. This place is a bit of heaven most times. Your poem could've been under the pictute you so graciously allowed me to use. I love the way you took that same picture and gave it character that was a little different. Just goes to show that poets have different points of view and we all are connected spiritly.
Welcome to the word world of poetry.

Love and peace!

Excellent sharing. I also loved the photo Susan used that you took. Beautiful work!

A drive in the country truly can be wonderful therapy, Ronald; and you've penned the thought well.
