Timeless Tapestry

Bits and pieces of thread
Various colors interwoven
Sewn with love and hate
Cross stitched in mixed messages
Despair and hope throughout
War, peace, and pipe dreams
Lots of pain, misery and confusion
With overlays of compassionate love
Happiness braided with sadness
The design a disturbing hodgepodge
One would imagine it to be unsightly
Instead it became a beautiful collectible
With vibrant colors superbly crafted
Into a timeless tapestry called life

Beautifully written and such a true picture. So much of what we each experience makes up what we are as individuals...

Into a timeless tapestry called life

"Cross-stitched in mixed messages" says it about right, Eileen. Life can definitely turn us in different directions over the course of our lives and yet, life, itself, is so beautiful. Brilliant write.

Jill

Ah, Eileen, if I were a horror writer (some thing all my novels are a horror LOL) this is the gem of a premise for a plot, something out of Twilight Zone. Since I don't write horror (really) I can only say that you have come up with a fantastic idea for poetry. Good reading.

It's wonderful the way you write. I am in awe of how you come up with these creations seemingly so easily. I sure don't. Thank you for allowing us to share of your creative soul, Eileen. Love and peace to you,
