Fallen Petals
I caught your chiseled silhouette against the moon lit window
You could have been awake,
The rhythm of your breathing so quiet and soft
I wanted to trace the curves of your body with my quivering fingers
But there was the fear of rejection from you
The fear of not being wanted as a real woman
I noticed how your eyes sparkled with mischief
Whenever you looked at me…Did you see the same sparkle in my eyes?
Your snake like smile invited me to venture closer to you
A captivating and well rehearsed trap
But the fear of rejection was always lying on my outer shell
I watched as the sands of time slowly drained the night
To expose golden rays peeking through the corner of the drapes
You moved restlessly, turning from side to side as I watched
Should I chance the pleasure of outlining your perfect silhouette?
Could I summon up enough courage to caress your beckoning lips?
You turn on your back, are you awake waiting for me?
Dare I wake you if you are asleep; to embrace your Roman structured body?
I feel the need to run my quivering fingers through grazing grass on your chest
There is an urgency to allow my hands to journey on an exploration
I continue to lie here, you are so tired, and sleep is of essence
There is a long trip in store for you; I guess I could wait until next time
Because next time we will both be ready
Eager to grab at each other
To slam our bodies in unison until we both climax
I will be here waiting with you in my heart
Once you have rested and eradicated those tortured thoughts
Once I have calmed my fears
You will feel the need to engulf me
And I will steadily hold you tight.
