I'm bipolar. It doesn't mean I'm any less of what I was before my diagnosis. But, for those of you who aren't, just a glimpse...

It’s all head games, relax, get over it…

    Advice from friends, bought, then sold

I suppose it gives them comfort.

High wire act, careless jog along

Sanity's blurred, yet jagged edge.

Stop for a moment, look down;

Steps are slurred, no safety net below.

Time to most enjoy life it's said,

It’s time to take a long bipolar break.

Throw stale bread to starved wolves,

That drool blood outside barred doors.

Grown men aren’t supposed to whimper

     Doesn’t this drama get old?

I wish it were a simple soap opera.

Reality? Who needs it? Get a grip.

It only gets in depression’s way.

Savor bitter sip of unwanted stress,

Nightmare meals that shatter sleep.

Can scattered thought be more complex?

Blood pale jester grins, mimes and mocks.

"Damn' fool ain't seen nothin' yet"

Tosses squirming, eight-legged roses.

Widow’s legs awaken long dead

     Haven’t those memories been rolled?

Recollections return uninvited.

Time dries fast, as mind takes flight;

Never seen a watch with wings.

Mangy black cats fight on harpsichord,

Paw off-key chopstick serenade.

Medicated mortar builds a dam,

Tries, fails to hold flood waters back.

But to swim in madess, finally yield

Manic temptation is hard to resist.

     Just for the record, tale to be told:

Daily terror is a thing my mind holds;

      Win or lose, I’m its battle- torn vassal.

if anyone doubts it is real, they should have a good dose of it, they would become believers
