Karen's and my 47th birthday on June 26th. :)
Another year sneaks up on me:
you know, it's funny how time flies
when you least expect it:
It seems like yesterday when
I thought I'd never grow old,
when I had forever to look
forward to. And now I find
myself looking back, wondering
where did all of that time go?
Memories now. And in the
mirror, subtle changes: more
lines, more grey, and my body
isn't as spry as it used to be,
You ask, am I complaining?
No. I'm just very grateful that
I made it another year.

|Happy Birthday Karla and Karen.
It is funny to think of being at this age. I turned 49 last month. I think back to being a little girl and looking at my mother when she was in her 40's and thinking - damn, she is old! LOL...now when I look at myself at 49 I think I'm still young. How could I be 49? Numbers are funny like that.

|Oh hon, you are in the very prime of your life. You know that. And each day from the day you awakened in full bloom is marked with a poem. Isn't that beautiful?! Seeding your passion and love of beauty(you even see it in the dark)like wildflowers. That's how I see you-a wildflower on the prairie. You may shudder in the wind but your roots are sturdy and deep. Congrats to both you and Karen on your 47 years!

|I know the feeling, Karla. I just turned 56 on June 8th and I wonder where the time has gone. How could I be this age and still feel so much of my youth within me? Age is a marker...something like a timeline but really it doesn't say much about who we are. It is not about how old we are but about how much we have "lived" that colors our world. Congratulations to both you and Karen on making it another year!! Cheers!!!!

|Have yet to make another year,
Though I will I must admit I fear,
Getting tired am I of this old life,
Perhaps i should reincarnate into a steer,
And get myself a young heifer as a wife...;) Ed

|Philosophically very sound and wise, Karla. Thank you for making me think. It's my eldest daughter's birthday today. In case I forget (because the coming week is rearing its head to be a really stressful one), happy birthday in advance. I hope you have sweet day. Love and peace to you,

|A joyful HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you and Karen. Thank you for spending so much of your time while in this world to bless it with the shining gifts of your wisdom, grace, and love shared through poetry and prose. May you see another 47 years and with each one grow increasingly in an abundance of joy and prosperity.

|47 ! ! ! Hell, Child, that's kid stuff. But, if you really believe that you're getting old, which you're not, I have a Birthday Present for each of you; I promise NOT to SING my best wishes to two wonderful members of our close, but not closed, society of poets?

We lived this long only by the Grace of God; we are living, breathing, walking Miracles! I thank God every day for the aches, pains, and the grey hairs; we could have very easily died, but God had other plans, obviously! Happy Birthday, you aren't old, you are only a spring chicken! Have fun, and may you have many more happy birthdays; I can't think of a better person to share a birthday with than you! You were the best present God ever gave me, and you still ARE!! Love you, sweetie!
(((BIRTHDAY HUGS))), birthday kisses, and many prayers, your (grateful) twin sister, Karen Lynn. :D
