Cheese...

Thinly sliced American,

Sliced so thin it might blow away,

Melts in your mouth, no need to chew,

So much better than the cheese that is blue…J

No desire have I for anything but,

No taste for swiss or cheddar,

American is always better,

A pound of cheese can for me be a meal,

Though mozzarella ain’t bad after using a shredder…J

So now you know my weakness,

American cheese, nothing less,

Eat it can I to the excess,

Sometimes I love it so much,

I am tempted at times to of it, caress…J

American is a mongrel assortment of leftovers squeezed into a slimey jelly that requires no chewing. Just right for you. Being from from Wisconsin I've sampled some of the best, but there is nothing better than a local aged sharp cheddar that is dry and cumbly. Having sampled California wines, sourdough bread and German summer sausage or juicey brats hot off the grill, or sipping the firm white flesh of a mild walleyed pike...

Except when you cut the cheese and spoil the party, farty!

Buy that orange bar soap and you can dream, Ed. Cheddar's my weakness-extra sharp, Adirandock please. Had enough of American growing up in a litter of eight. They bought 5-pound blocks of the stuff. Oh but my grandmother made her own provolone and ricotta which was pure heaven. See what you've done? My mouth's watering. Bye, gotta get some cheese...

Surely Ogre Ed has not developed a taste for cheese now...;)

When I lived in Europe I always was amazed at all the different cheeses to choose from. Now I have made my choice and it's ALL American too!!
