Alexis' complex background catches up with him and appears to be at the root of his existential malaise. He was brought up a Catholic, while his father was an Italian Jew..

The mountains of day in shades of gray
Rock steady as the symphony of life plays
And as the sun sets mountains turn purple
Say goodnight until the morning when
The sun rises and glints golden off
The Glorious pinnacles of Creator's treasure
While I stare in awe with peaceful pleasure

To ponder the inability of  why humanity
Can't be satisfied with it, for all is vanity
Mind fixed on self and worldly matters
We rush about like a bunch of mad-hatters
What waste, what unforgiveable foolishness
Getting entangled in things that cause duress

The most gifted people self professed saints
Involved with attacking others, no restraints
Dare we speak of holiness in the same breath
With which we demean others causing death
To relationships that should be held in esteem
If we weren't fixated on our own selfish scheme

An age old question, and something very worth pondering, Tiger Lily. If only we could find the answer.

Man crafted tools and claimed to be their creator, but never asks himself who created you and what gratitude should you owe to that creator. Those who have eyes in their hearts can see God as God is love and love can't be seen with normal eyes.

Excellent point indeed Eileen…too bad many learn too late that we are all just whispers in the wind and that all of our hate, spite, piety, and self loving will soon perish and their memory will all be forgotten.

Beauty created ay a master artist. This is comforting and directs attention to those who judge others but bend the truth to adorn themselves. It happens in society and throughtout centuries.
