Disconnected

No point to pivot from
No base, no beginning
Like a kite without a string drifting
You go unknown
So little people care for dreams
Unless they are theirs
No one share triumphs
Or soothes defeats anymore
When life begins to crush
There is no one to call
Friends are fabulous
But most of us
Connect only lightly
Care only slightly
Family is fine and all
If you have one
You cannot make anyone care
About your existence
Roaming alone in the fray
Bewildered
Caught unaware
Allowed to go unnoticed
Left to stray
Stretching again and again
Towards connection, meaning
Finding only disappointment
What does one do
When the surface
Is not nearly enough?
