A Soldier's Prayer for His Family

O Thou Loving Father of us all, Who art here and everywhere, let Thy blessings be upon my loved ones at home. Keep them in Thy gracious care, protect them by Thy power and make their hearts glad in the thought of Thy nearness.

Help them and help me to feel that however separated we are by distance, in Thee we are close to each other.

Amen.

....................................................................................

I have seen the scorching heat of battle

and the enemies of Christ surrounding Salem

we have defended Solomon's Temple to our last man

no infidel will ever stand, on this sacrosanct ground

our holy crusade has lasted two thousand years

we have fought for the standard of Richard the Lionheart

and have placed Saladin's marauders underground

we are royal knights, with a blood red cross emblazoned

and our holy campaigns have been deemed by the Most High

for Jerusalem will never be divided or surrendered

as the Ark of the Covenant lies in Jewish hands

delivered by King David and the high priests of Levi

in great revelry, dancing with timbrel and harp

the Holy Grail of the Davidic bloodline

is ensconed within the Holy of Holies

we guard the Crypt of the Sacred Sepulchure

and the blessed walls and turrets of Zion

with fidelity and allegiance to the King of Kings

and we are prepared to die all over again

Until our Savior returns, at the Final Triumph

This is such a magnificent poem, it's hard to think of words to describe it. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we are told.
Little Jerusalem.....Mighty God Thank you for your insights into God's covenant people and covenant plan.

How graphically beautiful this piece is. It is like our life's battle to understand what we can not comprehend but to fight because we know the truth we feel in our hearts. Your words here have embraced my spirit and brought out something not felt in a long time. VERY beautiful.

Reminds me of that bestseller, The Holy Blood And The Holy Grail. And somehow my thoughts turn as well to Freemasonry and the film National Treasure with Nick Cage... aaaaaaaahhhh!! Here's why!! :)) This is a soldier's manifesto and no mistake. Very classical. Very Peter. Very well done. And I STILL need to check out some historical facts... TY Kate xx

What a magnificent piece you have penned here, Peter. In my studies, I devoured Ancient and Medieval history...and the crusades. You've captured the spirit and meaning in this outcry of the followers of Christ as you align with the brave in their celebration of the right to worship him. Such a powerful tribute, it left me engrossed.

Love,
Taylor

The sand is white and along the center there is a line. It approaches and we will decide at the last minute for some. For me...I am a Christian. I admire the way you approach the future Peter and the way you message to us without the fire and brimstones. More listen to you I believe.
I do.

An excellent construct Sir Peter, covering much, and doing so with the panache of a gentleman and a scholar.

I agree, the lines are being drawn in all walks.

Excellent image, very romantic, and piques the imagination!

Kudos!
