Enchantment comes in many ways
Especially when the music plays

It wends its way into our mind
Caressing every cell it finds

It sinuates throughout our brain
Until it has become ingrained

It travels down into our toes
Shivering senses as it goes

Sometimes it can make us frown
When the blues have got us down

Mostly it's an ultimate high
Lifting emotions to the sky

Some melodies bring us to tears
Some lyrics haunting us for years

Music captivates our psyche
To romance it holds the key

Even in death songs unite us
While angels chant heavens chorus

New birth will herald a new song
Stirring our hearts to sing along

Enchantment comes in many ways
Especially when the music plays

Music is a universal voice. Poetry is too, for that matter. You have created a verse that fits well in both categories, Eileen. This poem speaks truth and is very well written.

Love,
Jill

P.S. I think we are somewhat on the same wavelength today, though I chose to honor those who "play" the music.

Eileen, I write almost every piece with music playing in the background... I am a huge fan of piano instrumentals and I let my mind crift as I write. Your poem speaks to me.. and by the way, I love the couplet rhyming..)

Enchantment comes in many ways
Especially without music play

Haha!! Just had to doe that, you know how I am about all that distraction filling my limited gray matter as I am trying to read poems. Yes, I do turn it down, but even that is a distraction. I know. I know. Grumpy old fart . . . we . . . man.

It is true, however, about music. In its place music has a wonderful affect on people Id, and some that is not so wonderful. You poem took the best music has to offer man and you explained it with pazzaz

You and I on the same page today, Eileen; while your notes are beautifully presented in verse and Midi, mine are discordant notes of pain. Really feeling it today...and really loved your beautiful concert. :) BRAVA!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

This poem clearly explains how music touches when the keys are played with great harmony. A love song once threw a king into the dancing stage and admitted that the power of music was more powerful than his majestic powers. Great poem. God Bless you Queen

Oh Eileen. . . . . . . .
Please tell me what you've seen
Angel Wings. . . . . . .
Tongues spoken with words to sing
Music you play
Enchantment you send my way
To the start of now - what has become - a new day.
