Enshrouded in darkness
I await you
I know you are here
Your presence surrounds me
The black night is your shrine
You live here
The storm clouds are forming
Only the lightening illuminates the sky
The booming thunder warns of your approach
The trees are dormant
They’re leaves are on the ground
Winter has caused hibernation
And with it the animals have gone
No peace and serenity exists
In this land that induces fear
The winds obey your command
The seasons turn with your upraised hand
You beckon me onward
Though me feet refuse to move
I struggle with my curiosity
Which has led me here
My eyes adjust to the flashing of light
Your power makes me tremble
A sudden flash exposes his shadow
My breathing stops
You raise your hand and call me near
My feet move without conscious thought
One arm envelops my waist
As the other caresses my face
“Amoura,” you whisper as you stare into my eyes
Bewitching me as you do
“You’re mine forever.”
Are the words I hear
As you brush the hair from my face
“Why me?”
My voice caught in my throat
You smile leaning in closer to my face
“You’re my light to my dark
Together we are one.”
Your kiss was soft upon my lips
The sun began to rise
The storm abated and the wind died
The seasons changed before my eyes
And the flowers began to bloom
“Only with both do we truly live”
His voice was warm and bright
“The balance of the dark and the light.”
