maybe life's about circles
instead of straight lines ?

by Henry Burt Stevens

there are themes
in every life
repeating at odd
intervals of time
if one keeps
enough junk
around one will
spot them

clippings, old photos
mostly paper pieces
yet objects like old radios
one played endlessly

when it died one
just set if underneath
a shelf but when
one runs across it years later

one hears again
Bob Dylan Like a
rolling stone and
Rolling Stones satisfaction

John Lennon imagine
the anarchist anthems
yet who's an anarchist
anymore, nowadays

Marvin Gaye plus
Benson what's going on
yes it's still
going on same thing

Queen Aretha respect
black pride anthem
so long coming
still needing work

these moments of karma
from picking over
one's accumulation of
life finding dharma.
