Sometimes I wonder how it got so bad.
And I think back only to realize that you canít remember,
Even the slightest feature of my face.
If only I was beautiful enough to make you stay.

Trying to hide behind the pillows,
Were my eye not enough to make you quiet for a while.
If I only had the ability to make you stand still,
Unable to say anything at all.

Holding back everything inside of me,
Afraid of being who I am.
Because itís not who you wanted me to be.
It was just perfect enough to get me through the day.

Iím allowed to cry now,
When all I did was smile.
In hopes that what little I showed was good enough,
For you to love me.

Right down my alley.... if I had an alley, that is. You are far less dark in your work than I had thought.. "Tis good writing in this one. And, at your tender but knowing age ! ! !

Ah, the pain of heartbreak; really helps remind one of the value of moving on! Well done, Maria.

I know that when we linger on ewhat could have been then we tend to make things in the past look better than they actually were. It's time to fly away from those things and put them where they belong. Excellent reflective pen Mariah.

Deeply moving but at the same time sad that you should have to be another person in order to find his love, perhaps it is time to let someone love the real you. Effective and emotional write Mariah, well done.

This world is filled with sadness as well as joy and everything in between. It's so sad that we have to believe that we are nothing without someone else and that the way we look is all important but that is how the world sees us. So sad to me because this is not how I believe. excellent write. Pierre.
