The heat wave is unbearable
Like standing in a hot oven
Sweat pours like rain
So bad the humidity
Even toilets pour forth sweat
From their ceramic shells!
Sirens dashing back and forth
Dehydrated and elderly
Hospital bound
A bewildering state
Of affairs!
Then at last relief arrives
In the form of an ugly thunder storm
Clouds turn black and ominous
Lightning flash in rapid succession
Suddenly the crash of thunder
The frightened dart under beds for cover
As rain in torrents pelt from heaven
And so the symphony continues
Conducted by the crocked wand
Of lightning strikes!
Newscasters at night describe the same
In near and faraway places
Tornadoes touchdown
Wreaking havoc in its wake
Broken houses, fallen trees, raging floods
Displaced people running scared and looking disheveled
Is this further warning of end time prophecy
Is it another chance for man to repent
Is it time to stop and consider
The prophecies foretold
Or is man still bent on saying
“Disasters have always happened.
It’s just that modern technology
Makes media coverage more
Widespread and news
More accessible!”
But aren’t disasters becoming increasingly intense
And now present itself right
At your doorstep?
“Be ye therefore ready also; for the son of man
cometh at an hour when ye think not.”
(Luke 12:40KJV)
