Naturens Gang / The Cycle Of Nature

Poem in Norwegian, translation in english follows.

Naturens Gang

I mitt hav,
Terget du sjø ormen,
Der du kom med vinden,
Og blåste opp stormen.

I stille vann,
Er det grumsete grunn,
Med mye som hviler,
Mellom overflate og bunn.

Ja, naturens gang,
Kan gi store følger,
Med sine jordskjelv, orkaner,
Og enorme bølger.

Så list deg nå bort,
Fra vulkanen som sover,
For vekkes den nå,
Er for din del, alt over.

The Cycle Of Nature

You came with a wind,
and blew up a storm,
that annoyed the sea snake,
In my ocean.

In still waters,
The bottom is turbid,
with beasts resting,
Beneath the surface.

The cycle of nature,
Offers aftermath,
After it’s earthquakes, hurricanes,
And enormous waves.

So slink away,
From the sleeping volcano,
For his awakening,
Will be your end.

A big thanks to Alexander Shaumyan for
helping me with the transelation.

I love the imagery in this poem, Cathrine. You present an original way of looking at the sea. I believe this could also be symbolic. Thank you for sharing this offering. It's good to see you posting again. Love and peace to you,

Regis
