I pour myself onto you like warm sand
shifting over the stony beach.
As one we reach towards the sea,
embracing her wet waves;
her undulating currents cover us,
overwhelm us, as we disappear
into her deep embrace,
thrashing, sinking, drowning
in her endless waters.
When the sea pulls back,
carrying her gifts to other shores,
we lie still, glistening in the
dampness, exhausted, spent.
I see the moon reflected in your eyes
and sleep again.
