To me this ‘left behind’ dog named Bubbles

Typifies what these Katrina pets went through

But it’s truly the very happy endings like this one

Which make everyone involved in rescue less blue

To honor the thousands of ‘left behind’ animals

All Pets Radio has launched a website to remember

Containing interviews stories pictures movies and tributes

To these ‘left behinds’ which debuted the first of September

Here you can read memorials about pets lost

Very happy reunions between animal and man

How Harry Connick, Jr. helped in the relief effort

How to develop your very own pet evacuation plan

Here you can listen to a very sad and enlightening interview

With the dedicated Director of the Louisiana Humane Society

Here you can listen to podcasts of some of my Katrina poems

And even a chat with an animal writer who happens to be me

But every time that I visit this new Katrina memorial website

I find myself watching the rescue movies over and over again

I and thousands of other animal lovers in this vast nation of ours

Hope and pray that this never again happens to our animal friends

And Sadly Enough

Pet Rescue Efforts

Still Continue on the Gulf Coast

One Year after this Devastating Storm

If you’d like to help in any way

This website also contains links

To animal organizations still involved

And if you’re looking for a new pet

Please contact your local animal shelter

There are still very sadly

Many ‘left behind’ animals

Just like Bubbles

Still looking for loving new homes

Unfortuntly I live in an area that is now making it impossible for renters to have animals :-( Here we have to worry about people being homeless because there is not enough homes for the people that are arriving by the day.

This is wonderful, Ed! Thank you for all that you do for those who are not able to say with words what their beautiful eyes state so emphatically. For those who cannot physically adopt a pet for whatever reasons, there are many shelters that will allow you to sponsor an animal so that they can live out their natural days in some form of foster care. I didn't mean to grandstand here on your page, Ed, but I just wanted to let people know that there are options to animal adoption. Many are still in great need of our help.
Take care,
Sherry

As I said many times before you can only be rewarded by God, not America or the world over, for all the time and effort you invested in rescuing these pets and for the concern you have shown to them during those difficult times of Katrina disaster .
Thanks

Ed - You've done SO MUCH for these poor animals, and you've done more than talk or throw money at it, you've been in the middle of the fight... Do you realize how noble that is? You inspire so many people to do more, to do become active instead of passively sitting in their chair, watching the news, complaining about the presidency and FEMA, and how bad our nation is. I just wish everyone could be like you... Your book is inspiring, your work is wonderful and you are a person that I am proud to know and call my friend! Congrats on getting these animals the recognition that they deserve...

This heartfelt and compassionate composition remeinded me of that glorious animation " All Dogs Go To Heaven ", and the delightful Bubbles and Co, certainly fit the bill...

Continue in your tireless and energetic efforts on behalf of God's creatures...your reward awaits you in Heaven..
