“A Hot Summers Day”

Oh what a beautiful hot summer’s day this is

Sun shining bright with warmest embrace

Dog napping on the lawn

No clouds in flight to dream on

With emotions deep within that want to snap

Instant tears lingering on

Blur my vision, obscured mist

But with a tender smile upon my face

Thinking about his life, so far away

Unaware of the struggle

Deep within my heart

And I wonder

Does he feel my emotions

The condition I’m in?

Or… does Mother Nature take care of that?

Just my thoughts

On this hot summers day

Then a few minutes later

While sitting in my car

Off loading fire wood for “Flashbacks”

Pizza fuel

Now Pizza smells filling my senses

Sighhh…my thoughts flee to him

And think to myself

Will my life change soon?

Like nature’s seasons

Looking at a leafless tree

Seeking answers and reasons

Baring my emotions

Awaiting Love’s Season

As seasons come and go

Then in a fleeting nature took over

Damn my stomach is calling out

Feeling hungry…let me go

No I am not going to buy it

For the simple reason I am on diet

I grab my water bottle

On this hot summers day

Cool it girl you’ve won

You resisted endulgence; Done!

Oh it’s no fun to be a woman I swear

Even on a HOT summer night

Now I need My Micky

To get me through this

HOT summers night

Tinka, maybe the HEAT of your Mickey-passion made you delirious, and you had a pizza reverie!

It is ok to have just one slice, Tinka. Life is too short for hard-line diet rules. The pizza cheat will give you a reason to take a long and beautiful walk along the sand the next day, breathe in the salt air, so you win twice.
Take care,
Sherry

Too bad that old hunger monster interrupted this heartfelt reverie!
It was so dreamy and moody, then a complete reversal as it changed into a humorous write about pizza and perseverance.
Fun to read.

Sissy Tinks ...

I felt as if I was reading your diary here. You bring us into your thoughts, and cravings, and fears, and wants, and insecurities, quite effectively. A very good write!

September is still summer but it is grape season and it's sultry. Oh well, I'll indulge in a pizza instead of you. Still diet or no diet, if you do your own it could be less fattening. Besides if you managed to resist then you deserve a prize. Go and buy one as a reward. Love Victor

ONe slice of pizza won't kill ya or your diet...eat in moderation, if you are used to 4 pieces, eat two, if you are used to two sandwhiches, eat one...that is the key to slowly losing weight...ED

Enjoyed this whimsical flow of need and desire that illustrates so well the little messages our bodies send to make us think our stomachs crave one thing when it's really our hearts desiring something altogether different:-)
