Asking God for help in little things and getting it can send thrills up and down your spine...

Only When You Ask

h. lena jones

I met my friend last Wednesday at church

She was distraught about losing her

Precious old Bible

And had searched everywhere for it

Her car, at home, and at church

Thereupon I broke into prayer

“Dear Lord, if Anita’s Bible

is somewhere in the church

please reveal it to us. Thank you,

in Jesus name, Amen.”

Instead of leaving the matter in His hands

We commenced searching around the church

But that was a waste of time

Disappointed, my friend went back to her duties

And I went into the healing room.

Within minutes, she came to the healing room

“I found my Bible,” she beamed

“Thing is, I looked in that very spot

several times … it just wasn’t there.”

God is good. His ways are not our ways

The key is once you’ve asked

You have to leave it alone

And allow Him to guide you

His instructions will be a brief prompting

You have to exercise your faith

And follow the prompting!

You may have had similar experiences

Give thanks to God

For His kind mercies

And keep believing!

“If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you

ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall

be done unto you.”

(John 15:7)

Amen and Amen! How exciting and rewarding is your write today, Lena!

This is my standard of living, Lena, and you have captured it very well! I thought I leaned on Him for everything BEFORE my I really do. Holy Spirit is my constant Companion and Guide...He leads me into all truth, without fail.

Two mysterious women appeared to return my lost glasses....

God bless you richly, Miss Lena....He already has blessed Miss Anita!

God helps those who help themselves. I have often received what I asked for. But I am choosy what to ask, for many are too frivolous in their requests. Great thoughts. Victor

Amen, Lena. I've had that happen on more than one occasion.
These are wonderful thoughts, words to live by. Another good poem, my friend.
Many hugs,

Dear Lena ...

I can totally relate to this excellent write.

Years ago I also lost a beloved Bible. It was filled with notes, and markings, and revelations I had been given in prayer.

We prayed, too, that God would bring my beloved Bible back. i was understandably distraught. An hour later the phone rang. A man had found it laying in the street, and on a whim had opened it, and found my phone number.

He mentioned that few people read the Bible anymore, especially in his circle, and his interest had been piqued to begin reading again. The Lord works in mysterious ways to bring people to Him.

Wonderful write. The secret is this. If you abide in him what you will ask for is his will.
God Bless,
