Ascension is a poem known worldwide for its heartfelt message of hope. It's a popular sentiment for dedications of community memorials, memorial services, etc.

And if I go,
while you're still here...
Know that I live on,
vibrating to a different measure
--behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me,
so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again,
--both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to its fullest.
And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart,
...I will be there.

Not one to be generally drawn to poetic verse, this poem is truly beautiful, touching and poignant. It never fails to move me and give me a sense of hope each time I read it over the years.

Beautiful poem with a profound truth within it!-To this sentiment, may I add this quotation: "Those that trust in the Lord shll renew
their strength; they shall soar on wings as the eagles; they shall walk and not faint." (Isdaiah 40:31.)

Good advice and good sentimental poetry. Thanks for it and for caring to give people hope and faith.

Touching. Very much so. In the nineteen years which has passed since this writing I imagine it is even more profound to you than it was then.

Though I've never heard of the pen before, I do find it being one that would ease the minds of those left behind.

This poem was written 19 years ago?

How much life has changed since then. And how much we have grown in our understanding of life and the ramifications of such.

This is a heartfelt construct Colleen - I am looking forward to your next write.
