The Cane Corso aided soldiers
walked with Caesars in the forum
fought in the Colosseum
before the Nazarene was born
Guarded treasure-laden caravans
from the Roman legions' conquered lands
The royal line of ancient Mollosor
birthed this beast of love and war

The Celts believed them Cwn Annwn
guardians of the gates of hell
This one I call Eva
A name that suits her just as well

She’s sensitive
She’s caring
Fast and smart
So strong and daring
She sees through folks
and lets me know
who should stay
and who must go

Obedient and regal
a loyal friend indeed
of purest Roman standards
a champion of her breed

This is a stunning tribute, Edwin! Your words are polished and declaring. Your dear friend, Eva, is truly loved.

A fine tribute to a fine looking guardian and friend, Ron. You're lucky she has the good sense to decide the trustworthyness of your friends! :) Fellows are so easily fool! (Ahem!)
Thanks for dropping by my site. I would take your advice under consideration, except we live in a condo and we haven't got a fireplace! Pity!

This is it for now...take care...God Bless...

You're right Ron, she IS the womanly head of his household. I'm just a part-time mistress! lol
When I first met Ed, I had to pass the Eva test. Fortunately, she fell in love with me at first sight and the love affair continues. I have a new best friend. She is all that Ed says above. A true lady!

Cuddles, I know how much Eva means to you and Monte before her. She is so very loved. I really appreciated this write because you've captured her essence perfectly. I know you've had some adjustments since I've been around (for example Eva had to vacate the bed lol) but now you really do have two leading ladies in your life....I'm the one without the fur remember? haha

I love you! Snuggles

Edwin ...

I agree - a good dog will keep guard over his domain. I believe they can "see" into the spirit. My wife and I like Irish Wolfhounds and someday soon, when we relocate to Durango Colorado, we will own one.

This was a fine tribute to man's best friend. Which instrument does she play? Sp: Caesars
