A Halloween Night
On a cold, dark, dreary night,
with wind howling in the air,
ghostly shadows such a fright,
walking the path if you dare.
Step by step, feeling the chill,
blinded by night covering fog,
a haunted house ever so still,
in the meadow near the bog.
Rickety steps under your feet,
heart pounding, racing in fear,
dead spirits, wanting to meet,
so real you know they’re near.
Opening with a creaky sound,
just inside the intensity grew,
with a chill feeling all around,
then, suddenly, you just knew.
The house was haunted indeed,
goose bumps covered your skin,
spirits raged above your plead,
Halloween night you can’t win.
