A Specter Of Misfortune

When your mask was worn clean and I could see your face again.
It just came so fast ...too fast.
and now it will haunt me the rest of my days.
You canít tame a wild heart,
Hold a wolf to the ground...
Couldnít stand to see the terror in his eyes,
As he lay...afraid.
Throwing his paws to the air,
But this was the last time...
Iíd forget to breathe.
And here, the night is laughing at me.
All of my unsettled loneliness is darkened by his retreating form.
It wasnít right for me to think I could have something,
So far beyond my reach.
If I thought for a moment,
It would be mine,
I was a silly fool...
Nothing but a fool.
It was too much for me.
But it meant everything,
Enough for me to lose my voice for all eternity.
But I still have my memory,
Until that too, leaves me behind.
Still, when the feeling passes by,
I canít regret, I canít forget, I canít change time...
Could my mind still be playing tricks on me?
Am I selfish to close my eyes and wish heíd see me?

|Intriquing in your desire and yearning hope that there is still a chance for the love you so obvioulsy crave. I think this is fiction but either way your heart and your passion came through in your words and imagery so clear I could feel your pain. Well done.
