Thereí a drip, drip, dripping sound
Coming from the other side of the room
Be worse if it was over my bed
Itís Election Day and itís raining

Gulf coast folks have found out
Whose good hands theyíre in
The storm took away insurance wonít pay
Itís Election Day and itís raining

Our governor went down to vote
Without his I D he was shown the door
They know who he is and just donít care
Itís Election Day and itís raining

North Korea wanted some respect
Even China wishes theyíd just shut up
Weíll all lose our Pepsi, Mac Dís and Gap
Itís Election Day and itís raining

The president once said stay the course
Seems more open as the media dogs rush in
Acting as if they knew this outcome
Itís Election Day and itís raining

Ailments of society reflected in laws
Religions of greed, healthcare flaws
Human Rights need championing because theyíre ignored
Itís Election Day and itís raining

Wonderful irony, helplessness, faith triangulared in this piece, Simon, not the peace of when, but of why-not.

I'm stuck here in Middle Georgia
The rain has turned to fog
Trying to vote my concious
With all these "yellow dogs!"

...and it's raining.

Just the way I feel too, Simon.
