A touch so tender,
Intimate moment shared.
Affection poured out,
Beset, her heart bared.

Disarmed by his charm
His grace drew her in.
He eagerly held her,
Her heart swooned within.

Dialogue grew longer,
And more detailed too.
He countered all questions;
Asked more, although few.

He listened, reacted
With quiet, a chuckle.
His insight and wisdom
Made her heart buckle.

This deal is not sealed;
She takes a deep breath.
Her heart fills with longing
For loneliness’ death--

Within her small world.
She prays he will be,
Her mate for all time;
The love who’ll set free--

Her passion and spirit;
And will love her right back…
He didn’t, disappointment;
Her dream fades to black.

Her mind reasons then,
That this may be better;
This affair that became,
A half-done love letter...

Written from the attempt,
To learn more this time,
How a heart can be moved,
Into love’s rhyme.

She's learned so much more,
Than she could dare know,
Watching from the audience,
Outside of life’s flow.

A point that is certain
Within the love game--
Is that a ‘fade to black’
Can bring hope again;

Of a new curtain call,
With fresh cast and crew.
A slate cleaned yet ready
To commence love anew.

Enjoyed this ode to the resilliance of the human heart. Moving through lessons learned for the love within to more brightly burn.
