A Bridge

Living in my own world
I'm slow to realize how
wide is the chasm to be
crossed over by each

How to climb tall hills
get over shared hurdles
of personal interests in
which goals must meet

In rules let's not settle
for trivia walking paths
of separate interests to
broaden equal goals

Can a bridge be built
of your half and mine
holding on to self as
we enter another's life

Are we ready to build
deep strong supports
for a love's melding
two into an oneness

Bridges have the capacity to bring the world closer but they are not easily built, are they? Every relationship needs a strong foundation before a bridge can sustain the weight of life. Excellent poetry. Lydi**

Yes, there are always bridges to be built, out of love and understanding, and because we want to do so. The hurt occurs when only one wants to build. )-:

Oh the bridges we must build... the support must be strong to allow the crossing. An excellent analogy of what has been meeting to become what could be... in all aspects of life really. ~Myrna~

Beautiful sentiments...afterall where would we be without bridges? Divided...too many divisions in the day in which we live. Very thought provoking...enjoyed much.

I think it is time for all of us to be on the same bridge, not a gap in between. Time to take time for each other, time to value that persons beliefs even if we don't agree with them. It is time for peace, time for all to reach out to help each other, not be afraid to take chances, to step outside the box, to always be ready to help our fellow man. Yes, Bill, I think we are ready, one step at a time, one person at a time. Rome wasn't built in a day, we can only do what we can do while we still have the time to do it. This one really jived my juices to flowing!! Thanks!

Your friend,
Linda Leeann Wells
