This poem was dedicated to The Men Of The Deep, all the miners.

Way Down Under

Way down under the ground,
Where the sun will never show,
There's a group of men, hard at work,
That most of us don't know.

They work long hours in pain,
Til it don't hurt their hearts no more
They long for their family time,
Who awaits for them at the door.

Just like a family, side by side,
Working hard through another day.
In the dark of the black cold dust
With a light guiding their way.

We hear in the distance, their voices
Clear in the underground soil,
As they sing to pass away hours,
Inspiring songs heard for a mile.

Those men who are made of courage,
Passed on through,year after year,
Through the Fathers, Sons and Uncles,
All the loved ones who cared.
