Sitting before my idling screen
Fighting the keyboard
Searching for thoughts
I wish to express.

Suddenly
Along Came a Spider
Like a Flash
From left to right
Missing my feet
Startling me
Scaring the crap
Out of me
(literally.)

Faster than a speeding bullet
I found myself to be
Threw a Webster dictionary
In her direction
Swat!
Scoring a direct hit
The spider is no more.

Yet she has
Become the subjsct
Of my searching thoughts
Causing my fingers, to assault
The standing by keyboard
Filling my idling screen
Ending whatever it was
I was searching for.

Poor li'l spider! Was it as big in death as you thought it to be in life? 'Twas just a little creature tryin' to survive - unless it was a T'rant :o)

In your warm climate those leggy critters must thrive...up here where it is colder ours seem to have disappeared for the winter...yeh!

By a brown recluse in my finger it's not
very pretty side to look at it turns brown

Excellent imagery vivid picture of spider

I am not fond of spiders at all, William and I will have to stop myself because I will stomp them and stomp them until you can not even find pieces of them anymore. Ever since I read that thing that said that each of us eats some crazy number of spiders while sleeping, I have been on a witch-hunt for them, and any that I see will be destroyed...sad really...they do serve a good purpose in the garden, but in my garden, they are not safe either...Quick death by flip-flop! OK now I have the creepy-crawlies and so close to bedtime too!!
Take care,
Sherry

Adorable poem, William! As much as I write about 'spiders', I hate the little buggers!

You should pay the spiders family for helping you to find your muse...better to pay them off, before they sue you...;) ed
