Another one I wrote when Karen was in the hospital. Glad she's home!!

I held your hand,
the one unpierced by an IV needle,
the one wearing allergy/ID bracelets.
I held your hand,
slightly damp, somewhat feverish,
bruised from numerous blood draws.
I held your hand,
while you slept upon white sheets,
willing you to get better.
I held your hand...
I'd do it all over again,
to have you come back home with me.

I've been away from AD for a while and when I came back what did I find but that one of my favorite twins has been out sick. I know you took great care of her, Karla.
