Another one I wrote when Karen was in the hospital. Glad she's home!!
|
I held your hand, the one unpierced by an IV needle, the one wearing allergy/ID bracelets. I held your hand, slightly damp, somewhat feverish, bruised from numerous blood draws. I held your hand, while you slept upon white sheets, willing you to get better. I held your hand... I'd do it all over again, to have you come back home with me.

Everyone who loves can identify with this heartfelt poem, Karla. The emotions run so strong when someone we care about is in pain or facing the ultimate sacrifice. You've been her rock, her loving and caring sister. Excellent poem.

The small things in life come back when we are faced with a terrible illness. Life is worth so much more when it's threatened. Thank God for this miracle and especially at Christmas.

I've been away from AD for a while and when I came back what did I find but that one of my favorite twins has been out sick. I know you took great care of her, Karla. I'm so glad she's back home now and recuperating. Here's wishing for a very Merry Christmas for you both.

This made me get tears in my eyes; glad you were there for me during my recent hospital stay! It made it so much easier to bear!
