Returning to the places where love had once been
Walking the paths once strewn with hope
Living in memories filled with light
Remembered dreams late in the night
Now gone are the dreams and gone is that hope
Gone with the wishes that didn’t root and grow fruit
Memories once shiny now are all rusted in red
Love has gone walking down dry, dusty roads
Now the sun shines on one who has bits
Of a new hope agrowing, but more wary and wise
Who now has wishes and dreams of her own
but never again will she give them away
For even if another comes into her life
She will not give her heart,
nor her life, nor her love
without some hard thought
If ever this miracle should happen again
Her heart she will share
But keep it within.

Heart felt write that I enjoyed very much. But I wonder if your heart will obey your head . . .

Ah, Sandi, beautiful heart-felt pen, but methinks the lotus only awaits a new dawn (as always) for the heart is (thank God) not logical.

A heartfelt piece of poetry. We've all walked crooked paths in our lives but we can turn it around and find happiness in the end.

I think I know the path your on, I tripped on a root sticking up from the tree of life and now I walk in circles...Very heart felt.
