but he's an impostor.....

If I didn't laugh at myself and defy,
I'd probably cry.
I love to clown around,
especially about a little joy I found.
Maybe it found me,
however having it is the key.

Of all the valuables I possess,
it's the most valuble I guess.
I'm going to hold on to it for dear life,
it helps me handle my misery & strife.
Normally when I've been had,
it helps keep me away from sad,
so I feel more glad.

Glad with a phony feeling,
still it's quite appealing.
You can't fool a real clown,
unless you know why he has a frown.
A real clown knows his job,
he tries to make us laugh and not sob.
I may be a phony clown,
I know I'm dealing with

a real down.

I LOVE this one! Clowns are like most other people but, we have to smile constantly. I went on the stage after my mother died but no one, other than my troupe members, knew; it was hard but it helped. Nothing is as wonderous or heals the soul as the peal of sincere laughter.

Yes, my friend, we all become clowns at times, if only to survive. Loved this one. God Bless, Love Holly

I love to clown around,

So do I, Grady - and it will keep us young (at heart, anyway!!)
