I share my car with a new passenger;
a navigator.
With a precise address she will
happily render
the quickest route home.

But if I don't;
Say I take a detour
to the drugstore.
She sounds a couple of bells
before announcing
"Re-caluating", (Bitch),
and is overly fond of
her favorite message:
"When possible,
make a U turn".
"Make a U turn."

when I tell her we're
going home,
(I know this is childish)
I'll stop
at the post office
or library
while Miss Navigator
sounds urgent
alarms to warn me
how much I will regret it.

She's got
an attitude.

"Recaluating" she says
but I know
she's really asking me
how could I be
so ignorant
as to believe
I know more
than the three satellites
with which she
is on such intimate terms.

She's stuck up.
I think she tries
to repress it,
it seeps through
that sugary sweet,
smiling voice
at the end of every trip;
"Arriving! At destination!"
as if she just won
first prize
in a beauty

And she didn't.

I hope she learns
from that.
