I have a lot of favorite singers, it's true ;
Singers of old, and the singers new;
People like Loretta Lynn and Ole Hank,
Dolly, and's them I must thank.

I especially love Miss Loretta Lynn;
I'll stick by her through thick and thin!
Alan Jackson's another one I love...
Wow, whatta hunk!! Was he sent from above?? :)

But Loretta isn't the star of this country show;
From the state of Georgia his music flows:
Alan Jackson, he is; long, tall, I'm here to say,
I sure like to listen to him every day!!

He is a gifted singer and easy on the eye;
He doesn't accept compliments...he's too shy!
His songs speak volumes to people near and far.
No, this man doesn't act like a typical star.

With his blonde locks and his eyes of blue;
He has a song for me and one for you.
He sings of tragedy, love, and even hope,
He gives us music that helps us to cope.

The song, "Where Were You", spoke of tears;
It seemed that he addressed everyone's fears.
Everytime I listen to that song I have to cry;
And more often than not, I'm asking: "Why?"

But the song has helped all of us to heal,
And helped our ability to care and feel.
I was once an angry lady, it's true ;
But I feel happier now. How about you?

Alan, you're the one guy singer that I love,
God send you many blessings from above!
Without Him, you wouldn't have the gift of song;
Thank Him for it, and you'll never go wrong!

So here's to you and your country style:
Keep it country, and you'll be around a while!
I am one of your biggest fans around,
And I really love your country sound!!

Dedicated to my favorite male country star,

I'm still new at this...y'all give me a
break! I'm not as good a poet as
y'all are!!!

He's one of my favorites, too, Karen, along with a few others like Joe Nichols and Toby Keith!

Karen your flow and rhythm was excellent. You can write poetry! Great words too! I like Alan but I also like Trace Atkins. Well, like you I like most all country. I like most all music. Keep writing!

Well, I reread and didn't see anything about a dictionary, but sure can relate to what you say about Alan--luckily my youngest daughter's in love with him, so I get to hear a lot of him. Good poem, Karen--and you're right on target about the power of "Where Were You."

I have never heard of a poetry dictionary but that is okay. I have a pretty good cd collection and I think Alan Jackson is in there too. Good write...don't sell yourself short!

And to think he writes most of what he records too... such talent. Nice write.

KARLA! I didn't even know there was such a thing as a poetry dictionary!!! (Really?). Ms Vidra this is very good, how could anyone not love Alan, I'll tell him you said hello.

WOW!! Good write, Karen. :) You're right, Alan's easy on the eyes...wooooofff, is he fine! He can sing, too...and well! :) Keep writing 'em, Karen, the more you practice, the better you'll get. *ssshhh* don't tell anyone, I still use a poetry dictionary at times! I sometimes get stuck searching for the right word; it helps. Have a great day, (((HUGS))) to you! Love, Karla.
