A Vignette of an early morning realization waiting just outside my window.

Tender Awakening

I wake early to a certain stillness that canít quite be placed, though it tugs at the back of my mind echoing the past. Usually the sounds of cars driving by and childrenís laughter walking and biking to school occupies this time of morning. After a few minutes curiosity gets the better of me. I have to understand this quietness after the symphony of wind, which played the night before.

Unfurling my cocoon, I stand up and walk over to the window, pull aside heavy damask drapes, and peer through a partially fogged glass.

A bright new world awaits my eyes draped in pristine trappings of whitest ermine, sequins glitter atop adorning its fluffy folds. Silver skies touched by a hint of mellow glow blends deftly adding depth and hue, transforming the glade behind my home into a festive layer cake patiently waiting to be nibbled on.

I sigh, smiling with the tender awakening of winterís splendor.

There is something magical about the first snow fall of the winter. Well done, Sandi. Thank you. Love and peace,
