A broken mother

" You see before you -
A brokem mother.
She has not
always been so.
Once she was
like you.
She was
an emblem
of democracy
and freedom.
But these days,
she is forced
to live under
the mortars
of death
and destruction.
Ah! Now,
she could not
tolerate the pain.
Poor she.
She's driving
out of her life
with an outline
of history in her eyes
- totally ignoring
the pungent odor
of patriotism
erupting from here core
along an old rhino trail
with the setting peace
behind her back."

Sad that the larger world of political intrigue and amoral expediency gatecrashes our personal lives and destroys it. How do we marry the individual with community, society, and the world at large? Who can know?

Clear and concisely penned, Bhuwan, it is a very sad and pitiful situation of which you etch upon the soul of the reader.
Take care,
