I have to believe that after raising five children of our own, that they are much more educated then we were, of course that doesn't mean they are more intelligent then we are and there is a big difference.
If computers, microwaves and vacumn cleaners along with washer, dryers and dishwashers were taken away from us today, we could function just find as if they never exsisted because we did great without them years ago. Our children wouldn't know how to get through a day without these things. I love my children as I'm sure you all do but I worry about the day when they have to use their brains and won't be able to count or spell. Even the schools supply all the means for top A students and they're failing. We can't blame them for this because we are the one's who wanted to give them everything we never had in our lives. I watch as they gain weight not realizing what damage is being done to themselves. There seems to be a remote for everything in our life.

Life's Just A Little Easier

Back just a few short years ago,
We had what they call,"dishpan hands",
Doing our dishes the old fashion way,
With water, soap and a washpan.
Today we just load them in a machine,
And complain of the chore, we just done,
It wouldn't hurt for the young ones today,
To make a trip, back to where we come from.

Don't use a pencil or learn to spell,
The computers will do that for us,
We don't have to write or use our heads,
Today there's just no need to fuss,
They don't have to do math,
Or use their minds, it's so sad,
They just pull out that calculator,
Oh gosh it makes me so mad.

They claim that life's just a little easier,
But they're all pretty well overweight,
In todays world, they don't have to move,
Use a remote, cause thats all it takes.
No more hearty home cooked meals prepared,
They all seem to eat fast foods on the go,
Because they say, life's just a little easier,
Now that I look at it, I really don't know.
